Practical Field Application Workshop

This event will feature a presentation of the 12th Ed. of the MICHIGAN TREE VALUATION GUIDE
Participants will learn the Cost of Cure Approach to monetary tree valuation utilizing Replacement and Trunk Formula methods.  The inherent depreciation factors will be considered for each method using Species, Location and Condition as they impact value.  This participatory discussion will be followed by realistic evaluation of trees in Garfield Park, followed by in-class review and discussions.

 

 Presenters will include:

  • Charles Wade, PhD, Biology Dept., Mott Community College, Flint, MI​

  • Paul Dykema, Owner, The Visiting Arborists

​There are two Event registration prices:

  • $135.00 workshop registration includes purchase of a 12th edition Guide (available for pick-up at the event). 

  • If you already have a copy, the $95.00 workshop registration does not include a Guide (bring your own Guide).

Workshop is limited to 50 participants

Registration closes April 15, 2025

ISA Continuing Education Units approved for the following categories:

Certified Arborist 5 CEU's; Municipal Specialist 5 CEU's; BCMA-Science 2 CEU's; BCMA-Management 3 CEU's

A limited quantity of Guides will be available for purchase at the event- CASH/CHECK ONLY $40.00 exact change. Guides will not be provided free of charge for use during the workshop so you will need to bring your own, purchase one with registration, or plan to share with a friend.

Lunch is included in registration fees and will be provided on site. Writing materials and formula worksheets will be provided.

  • 9:30 am Workshop starts in gym, then moves outside (dress for weather)

  • 11:30 am -12:30 pm Lunch Break in gymnasium

  • 12:30 pm Workshop resumes in gym

  • 3:30 pm Workshop concludes
